In a webcast debuting on Thursday, December 12, 2024, Kat Corando of International Paint LLC and Scott Sinclair of Johns Manville will present “Mitigating Corrosion Under Insulation (CUI) While Reducing Carbon Emissions.”
Coronado is technical support manager for protective coatings in the Gulf and Latin America regions, while Sinclair is the national specification manager for industrial insulation.
The webcast, which will be made available in an on-demand format after its initial launch, is hosted by the Association of Materials Protection and Performance (AMPP) and brought to viewers courtesy of the National Insulation Association (NIA).
According to the presenters, there is currently no insulation “silver bullet” to prevent CUI.
“The cost of CUI is enormous in dollars, downtime, safety considerations, and overall operations,” the presenters write. “It is time to consider the value of mitigating CUI by looking at substrate preparation, the total insulation system, and all the benefits of that process.”
“During this discussion, we will focus on how to best mitigate CUI and other benefits of a properly installed system, including energy efficiency and reducing carbon emissions,” they add. “When it comes to minimizing CUI, a total system approach is required with the initial installation and with ongoing maintenance of insulation.”
In this webcast, attendees are expected to learn:
- How to best mitigate and minimize CUI;
- The benefits of a property installed system; and
- How insulation can reduce carbon emissions while increasing energy efficiency.
