Staff members of the Association for Materials Protection and Performance (AMPP) came together on Oct. 2, 2024, in Houston, Texas, USA, for AMPP Connexion. The staff summit event was specifically dedicated to innovation and collaboration.

Alan Thomas, CEO of AMPP, kicked things off by sharing exciting insights on the future of the association. This established a tone for a series of sessions focused on strengthening teamwork, sharing knowledge, and driving the organization’s mission forward.

Dr. Jose Gutierrez, senior director of hardware design and engineering at Microsoft, then delivered a keynote address titled “Architecting Creative Destruction: Thoughts About Innovation and Leadership.” That was followed by a speech by Chris Leake, director of user experience at AMPP, who captivated the room with his presentation, “User Experiences Designed: Tools and Techniques to Craft Memorable, High-Quality Experiences for Our Customers.”

With inspiring energy, AMPP staffers aligned across departments, shared goals, and strengthened collaboration to lay the foundation for future success. Departments across AMPP had their own exhibition booths open throughout the day to showcase their latest offerings and developments.

The key takeaway? Success doesn’t happen in isolation.

By working as “one AMPP” through collaboration and networking, the organization aims to shape a stronger future while driving growth. This day-long event left staffers energized and ready to bring these powerful lessons into AMPP’s daily work.
