The Corrosion and Coatings Political Action Committee (PAC) announced its upcoming breakfast event featuring esteemed guest speaker Rep. Troy Carter, Sr. (D-LA). A New Orleans native, Carter represents Louisiana’s 2nd Congressional District—containing nearly all of the city of New Orleans and stretching west and north to Baton Rouge—in the U.S. House of Representatives.
The breakfast event is scheduled for 7 a.m. local time on Monday, March 4, in the New Orleans Ernest N. Morial Convention Center, Room R01, as part of the 2024 AMPP Annual Conference + Expo. It aims to gather industry professionals, policymakers, and enthusiasts to further the conversation around corrosion prevention and coatings policies.
“The Corrosion and Coatings PAC is dedicated to advancing policies that promote corrosion prevention, environmental protection, and public safety,” says Elaine Bowman, chairwoman of the Corrosion and Coatings PAC.
“Through our efforts, we aim to build champions in Congress who will advocate for essential policies such as increased bridge safety, removing lead from drinking water, and protecting our environment from hazardous chemicals,” Bowman adds. “Supporting the PAC moves the industry forward, promotes asset sustainability, and enhances public safety.”
The breakfast offers a unique platform for networking, engaging discussions, and gaining insights into the initiatives of the Corrosion and Coatings PAC. With Congressman Carter as the guest speaker, attendees will have an opportunity to hear first-hand about legislative efforts to support the missions of the PAC and the Association for Materials Protection and Performance (AMPP).
Speakers will highlight Corrosion and Coatings PAC priorities for attendees, including:
- America’s infrastructure: Advocating for coatings and corrosion control in U.S. infrastructure to ensure asset integrity, sustainability, and fiscal responsibility.
- Job creation and opportunities: Supporting legislative initiatives that lead to job creation and advocating for the employment of qualified professionals in public infrastructure projects.
- Small business growth: Promoting policies supporting sustainability and growth within the coatings and corrosion prevention industries.
To attend the event in New Orleans, La., guests are asked to RSVP by Feb. 23, 2024, at https://bit.ly/CorrosionPac_Breakfast2024. A $100 donation is required to confirm attendance, which directly supports the mission of the Corrosion and Coatings PAC. Additional donations are welcome.
Please note that only U.S. citizens can donate.
