AMPP Announces Town Hall Webcasts to Introduce New CEO

The Association for Materials Protection and Performance (AMPP), a global nonprofit representing more than 32,000 members in the materials, corrosion, and coatings industries, is hosting two virtual town hall meetings with new CEO Alan Thomas. These meetings are designed to allow members and customers to connect and engage with him.

Thomas, an industry veteran with over 20 years of leadership experience, assumed the role of CEO on April 1. With a strong background in materials protection and association management, he has worked closely with various industry leaders to drive innovation and excellence.

During these town-hall meetings, Thomas will share his vision for AMPP and address questions from attendees. As part of the sessions on Wednesday, May 17 (11 a.m to 12:00 p.m. Eastern) and Thursday, May 18 (2 a.m to 3 a.m. Eastern), attendees will:

  • Gain insight into AMPP's strategic direction under Thomas' leadership
  • Understand how the organization aims to better serve its members and customers
  • Engage in an interactive Q&A session

About Alan Thomas

Before this appointment, Thomas served as the chief executive officer for GRIDIRON, LLC, where he oversaw the acquisition and total integration of a lower middle market SaaS company, doubling the size of the business. In 2014, Thomas helped launch Array Coating Technology, LLC, a full-service industrial blasting, coating, powder coating, and metal finishing company focused on the subsea oil and gas sector, where he cultivated strategic partnerships with industry leaders and customers.

A past International Facility Management Association (IFMA) executive vice president and chief operating officer, he also was responsible for developing strategic alliances and channel partners globally for the international nonprofit.

Thomas earned his bachelor’s degree in Christian Education from New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary, and a master’s in business administration with a concentration in finance from Tulane University. He also is a former member of the U.S. Coast Guard, where he served for six years and received the U.S. Coast Guard Achievement Medal for distinguished leadership and exceptional performance of duty.
