Strange Corrosion, LLC (Southbury, Connecticut, USA) and Tesi Group LLC (Conroe, Texas, USA) have agreed that the Envirawrap’s brand and related production and marketing rights will be transferred exclusively to TeSi Group.
Envirawrap is described as a monocoque construction, single component, cold-applied, elastomeric corrosion protection jacket designed to provide splash zone protection of inshore and offshore structures.
TeSi Group, a leading specialist manufacturer of induction heating and powder coating equipment for pipeline, field joint, and tie-in applications along with heat-activated, powder-coat corrosion protection systems, says it will manufacture Envirawrap in Conroe, the United Arab Emirates, and Italy. The product will be uniquely placed to service the North and South American, European, and worldwide markets, according to the company.
For more than 37 years, Envirawrap (and its earlier Armawrap and Retrowrap generations), has provided custom-designed splash zone protection of piles and tubulars for both inshore and offshore locations. Its acquisition provides TeSi Group with enhanced capabilities to provide new build and retrofit solutions designed for the long-term protection of circular, H, concrete, and wooden piles, both subsea or topside.
The acquisition is effective April 15, 2023. Tony Strange, the Envirawrap system’s inventor and managing partner of Strange Corrosion, LLC, will provide technical support as a consultant, as needed, to smooth the transition and advise when required for future applications.
“Envirawrap’s reputation as a leading provider of corrosion protection jackets on piles and tubulars in the splash zone and subsea as well as its proven track record of service around the world make it a great acquisition for us,” says Ausonio Zubiani, president of TeSi Group. “We welcome the opportunity to expand our activities into marine corrosion protection, and we believe that with our technical expertise and our international sales force we can bring Envirawrap to the next level.”
After acquiring Strange Corrosion’s Envirawrap, TeSi Group says it will have both hot- and cold-applied solutions for onshore and marine coatings, as well as retrofit applications.
