Sherwin-Williams Protective & Marine (Cleveland, Ohio, USA) is now accepting entry submissions for its annual Impact Award, which recognizes outstanding water and wastewater projects completed in North America.

The Impact Award honors application contractors, specifiers, and owners for excellence in delivering long-term asset protection for the wide array of systems and structures that make up North America’s water and wastewater infrastructure. Winning projects for the 2022 class will be announced on Oct. 11.

Any new, restored, and/or rehabilitated water-related structure that used Sherwin-Williams Protective & Marine coatings from June 1, 2021, through July 31, 2022, is eligible for the award. Such projects include water treatment, water storage, water transmission, sewer collection, and wastewater treatment structures, and are not limited to highly visible structures.

According to Sherwin-Williams, the program is designed to highlight outstanding projects each year that are helping to ensure fresh water access and environmentally safe wastewater removal. Each award demonstrates how these projects, along with the contractors, specifiers, and asset owners responsible for them, are helping to enhance public safety and extend infrastructure life.

An independent panel of respected water industry experts will determine winners. Judges will rate entries on:

  • The difficulty of the submitted project;
  • Challenges overcome by the participants provided to the owner;
  • How satisfied the parties were of the outcome;
  • Overall uniqueness of the project.

Applications for the 2022 Impact award will be accepted through Sept. 2, 2022. The application and release form are available for download, while 2021 Impact Award winning projects can be viewed here.
