The Association for Materials Protection and Performance (AMPP) is now taking applications for its second annual Diversity and Inclusion Grant.
The grant was established in 2020 with an initial investment of $50,000 to support equality and opportunity for underrepresented and disenfranchised AMPP members worldwide. The grant provides financial resources to help recipients advance and achieve professional success in the corrosion and protective coatings industry.
Those eligible to apply include members of historically excluded and intentionally marginalized populations due to inequitable historical and present-day policies or regulations. These may include a lack of infrastructure and resources, discrimination, conflicts, and targeted exclusion.
These groups include, but are not limited to, members of underrepresented racial groups; women; people who identify as LGBTQIA+; individuals with disabilities; low-income individuals; and others.
Candidates will be selected by AMPP’s Diversity and Inclusion Advisory Panel, comprised of multiple members from countries around the world.
The resources provided through this grant will depend on the needs of each applicant, as demonstrated through the application. Award amounts may range from $500 to $2,500.
Applications are being taken through Sept. 30, 2022. Winners from the 2021 class can be viewed here.
