The Australasian Corrosion Association (ACA) (Melbourne, Victoria, Australia) is introducing a nine-month mentoring program, which ACA says is designed to provide a unique opportunity for professional development, knowledge sharing, and networking.

Those who are under 35 years old and with less than 10 years of corrosion industry work experience will be matched with a mentor who has at least 10 years of industry experience. In the upcoming application period, ACA is seeking applicants in both roles—mentors and mentees.

Under this program, ACA is partnering with mentoring specialist Brancher to design a program that will help mentees work toward their career goals while building confidence, gaining exposure, and networking with support and guidance from their mentor.

In Brancher’s experience, the biggest reason that mentors love their programs is because of the great sense of reward and satisfaction they get from paying it forward, according to an ACA press release. They also often report higher job satisfaction, improved coaching skills, and increased performance.

More information on the program is available in a frequently asked questions (FAQs) page at the ACA website. Applications will open on June 6, 2022.
