American Innovations, Ltd. (AI) (Austin, Texas, USA) recently announced the sale of Longview, Texas-based Bass Engineering to MESA (Tulsa, Oklahoma, USA), effective Jan. 1, 2022.
AI acquired Bass Engineering in 2005. Since then, the two companies have worked closely together to develop industry leading products while providing world-class field services to the cathodic protection industry. MESA says it plans to build upon Bass Engineering’s solid foundation of safe, professional, and high-quality field services.
“MESA is the right partner to continue Bass Engineering’s growth,” says Ed Kruft, president and CEO of AI. “The sale is a testament to the consistent, outstanding contributions of our employees. This sale will allow AI to singularly focus on innovative, high-quality products and services to the critical infrastructure industries we serve. We look forward to strengthening AI’s relationship with Bass and MESA.”
As part of this transaction, AI’s Integrity Management division will become part of MESA’s Integrity group. Clay Brelsford, president of Bass, will continue in his role under the new ownership.
“We are thrilled to welcome the Bass Engineering team to our organization,” says Kelsey May, CEO of MESA. “This acquisition will create more value for our customers as we enhance our solutions and footprint. Our focus on SAFETY, quality, and customer service continues to drive us to deliver meaningful results.”
Regarding the move, Brelsford shares the vision of both MESA and American Innovations. “Bass and American Innovations did some great work together, and we’re proud of what we accomplished together for our customers,” he says. “As we become part of the MESA team, the Bass professionals are ready to enhance MESA’s offerings in corrosion control, integrity management, and cathodic protection systems.”
