CoatingsPro Magazine is now accepting submissions for its inaugural Contractor Awards Program. The experienced CoatingsPro team is looking to showcase projects and crews that demonstrate excellence in the high-performance coatings industry.
The new awards program is for commercial and industrial coatings contractors, with projects awarded in the categories of commercial concrete, commercial roof, industrial concrete, industrial steel, specialty project, and contractor/crew MVP (most valuable player).
The MVP award is for a team or crew member deserving of special recognition for any outstanding accomplishment on the jobsite, such as an exemplary team contribution, safety performance, or communication practices.
A 1st-, 2nd-, and 3rd-place award will be presented in each category.
Award winners will be announced in a special ceremony for the contractors at NACE International’s CORROSION 2017 Conference & Expo in New Orleans, Louisiana. The ceremony will be held on Tuesday, March 28, 2017, at the Green Theatre (Corrosive Chronicles) from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m.
Each nomination must be entered by a coatings contractor, and nominated projects must have been completed between November 2014 and November 2016. There's no fee to enter the program, but the entry form package must be delivered by 11:59 p.m. Eastern time on December 1, 2016.
Basic project details should be included for each nomination, including the name and location of the project and the prime client, completion date of the project, the size of the project in square feet or meters, and a brief description of the work. Other relevant details could include the size of the crew on the project; the duration of the project; the project’s processes, materials, and equipment; and the substrate that was coated along with its condition.
Project pictures—preferably with before, during, and after shots—are required, and CoatingsPro recommends that several images be included. Files should be no smaller than 1 MB.
All photos must be Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) (Washington, DC) compliant and show proper personal protective equipment (PPE). Nominees must also complete a photo release form, which gives permission to CoatingsPro Magazine and CoatingsPro’s Web site to use the jobsite photographs and gives the owner of the photos proper credits.
The nominated projects will be rated by industry experts according to the awards guidelines, which will be available online. First-place winners in each category will receive a physical award with the winning individual and company names engraved, a highlight in CoatingsPro Magazine as an award winner, information on CoatingsPro’s Web site and social media platforms as an award winner, and recognition throughout the coatings industry for outstanding work.
