In an ongoing window, Materials Performance (MP) Magazine is currently accepting nominations for its 2025 Corrosion Innovation of the Year Awards. The nomination period continues until Sept. 15, 2024.
Successful innovations should show the potential for a significant positive impact in corrosion control. Innovations may be related to coatings and linings, materials, design, equipment, testing, monitoring, modeling/risk assessment, cathodic protection, or chemical treatment—anything that directly relates to corrosion prevention and mitigation.
Award nominations will be accepted from individuals, companies, organizations, and government agencies worldwide. There is no fee to submit a nomination.
Promising Technologies
Since 2014, the MP Corrosion Innovation of the Year Awards program has provided a forum for association members and customers to showcase their corrosion mitigation technologies while receiving recognition for their innovative solutions. Winners are selected by a panel of industry experts spanning a wide range of subject-matter expertise.
“Historically, the winners of our MP Corrosion Innovation of the Year Awards represent some of the most promising technologies in the industry,” says Rebecca A. Bickham, MP’s Editor-in-Chief.
In the most recent iteration of the program, the global corrosion control community submitted a near-record total of more than 50 nominations in 2023. From that list, 11 were recognized as winners.
How to Nominate
The nomination form asks for a full description of each innovation, including the need for the innovation; the process used for developing and implementing the innovation; an evaluation of the results; and criteria used to determine its success. To be nominated, the innovation must have been in some sort of development phase on or after January 1, 2020.
Each nomination will be rated by a panel of leading corrosion experts using a numerical scoring system—with the highest-rated innovations receiving the awards. As they are received and vetted, nominations will be posted on the MP awards web site. Further program details, including the nomination guidelines and submission forms, are available there, as well.
2025 Awards Presentation
Each innovation selected for an award will be honored at an awards presentation during the 2025 AMPP Annual Conference + Expo in Nashville, Tennessee, USA. All winning innovations will also be highlighted via MP’s print and digital platforms.
