Combining NACE International and SSPC: The Society for Protective Coatings, as well as the recent introduction of a new AMPP membership program, enables AMPP to bring members more—more choices, more knowledge, and more ways for its members to connect with one another.
The 2021 merger has resulted in the largest global community of professionals dedicated to materials protection through the advancement of corrosion control and protective coatings. A new AMPP networking service lets you make the most of this new expanded community of which you are now a part.
What Are ‘Communities of Interest?’
AMPP is pleased to introduce “Communities of Interest” (COI) to its current lineup of online groups. More formalized than existing groups with moderators and formed under AMPP program committees, professionals can engage with those who share a common interest, demographic, or are from the same geographic area.
Online communities complement face-to-face meetings, and they help to further discussions and maintain relationships between meetings. As we anticipate the full rollout of AMPP’s new chapters, they couldn’t be timelier. Two new communities are outlined below and are ready for you to join their discussion threads.
Social Community of Interest (SCI)
Exclusive to members, Social Communities are based on a common demographic or interest among AMPP members. These groups allow members to come together with peers under a common interest to build a network, exchange ideas, and further their common needs.
Technical Community of Interest (TCI)
Technical Communities are for members and nonmembers who want to connect with others to further a common cause by sharing wisdom, knowledge, information, and/or data on a specific technical topic. They serve to bring industry together for the discussion of the state and needs of industry and to advance AMPP’s mission.
These new communities allow you to engage with a peer across town or across the globe. You can participate in a live technical discussion to help find a solution to a challenge or attend a virtual event hosted by a group of your interest to learn a new tip, technique, or technology.
Visit the Coatings TCIs that are now live. Groups will grow and expand with member needs. AMPP wants to provide you with convenient, direct access to the materials, corrosion, and/or coatings communities. Check back regularly to find those that meet your needs. And if you don’t see one that does, start one!
Access AMPP Communities of Interest via the “Get Involved” tab. You’ll need to login to gain access to groups.
