After being cancelled in 2020 due to COVID-19, the annual Corrosion Technology Week (CTW) returns in 2021 from Oct. 17-20 at the Royal Sonesta Houston Galleria. While CTW is primarily designed as an in-person event, there is an option for virtual participation, as well.
An official event of The Association for Materials Protection and Performance (AMPP), CTW is an annual “work week” for members of AMPP technical committees. The event includes a series of meetings focused on methods of identifying, preventing, and combating corrosion problems across all major industries.
Official Technical Information Exchanges enable committees to stay on the cutting edge of innovation and technology in the corrosion industry. These meetings also provide a forum for sharing information and solutions to corrosion challenges encountered around the world.
Sessions and Exhibits
“This will be our first face-to-face event in quite some time, and it is great to renew established relationships and build new ones,” says Derrick Castle, chair of the AMPP Standards Program Committee.
Benefits to attendees include learning about AMPP’s new standards program and how to participate; meeting colleagues in 21 new Standards Committees; participating in the development of corrosion prevention standards and reports for industry professionals; establishing best practices on the identification, prevention, and remediation of corrosion; networking with corrosion industry peers and industry partners; fostering the next generation of corrosion professionals; and learning about new and innovative technologies and products throughout the industry.
The complete schedule of Technical Committee meetings, Administrative Committee meetings, ISO meetings, and other meetings is available here, with events taking place throughout the day on Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday of CTW week.
Meanwhile, Exhibits will be open from 9:00 a.m. until 7:00 p.m. local time on Monday; from 9:00 a.m. until 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday; and from 9:00 a.m. until noon on Wednesday. Exhibitors who are currently scheduled to attend, along with their booth numbers, can be read below.
