Farwest Corrosion Control Co. (Downey, California, USA) recently implemented a free technical consultation service for cathodic protection (CP) and corrosion control through an “ask the expert” program.
The company says it has set up a dedicated hotline and email address to route inquiries directly to experts in products, engineering, and construction. The free service is available to customers and industry colleagues.
Farwest says its experts will respond to all inquiries directly, either at the time of the inquiry or within two hours. The company describes itself as an industry pioneer and leader in CP and corrosion control services for industries that maintain underground and underwater infrastructure, storage systems, or other submerged metallic structures.
“While our customers and our company are deemed essential businesses during this COVID-19 pandemic, we are all affected by safety precautions,” says Troy Rankin, president of the company. “We wanted to find a way to provide an extra measure of support. Many of our customers, who are working from home, may not have access to the resource files or field technicians they need for product, project, or construction questions. Field technicians often need consultative resources to help with onsite issues. With skeleton teams in place right now, we thought access to our experts could fill some gaps.”
As such, the company believes its experts can provide information, collaboration, product details, technical suggestions, and best practice insights to inquiries from callers. “Sometimes customer questions can be simple, or they can have a complex issue,” Rankin says. “Whether it is a conversation with our experts or providing a referral to another resource, we are standing ready to help our customers in the oil and gas, water and wastewater, power, and marine industries.”
