NACE International Applauds U.S. House Passage of Moving Forward Act

The U.S. House of Representatives recently passed H.R. 2, the Moving Forward Act. Among other things, the legislation provides $1.5 trillion to the nation’s transportation systems, including highways, bridges, public transit, airports, and ports.

“NACE International applauds the House of Representatives on passing comprehensive infrastructure legislation at a time when America needs it the most,” says Bob Chalker, CEO of NACE. “In addition to funding important projects throughout the nation, increasing public safety, and putting millions of Americans back to work, the bill ensures bridges are protected from corrosion and corrosion planning is an active part of the process.”

The bill now goes to the U.S. Senate for further consideration. The two chambers of Congress are expected to negotiate final legislation before current funding expires in September.
