Pilgrim Construction Names Director of Industrial Painting, Coating

Pilgrim Construction Co., LLC (Heidelberg, Mississippi, USA) recently welcomed Richard “Taco” Benavides as director of industrial painting and coating. In that role, Benavides will head Pilgrim’s new in-house painting division, which will offer both new construction and maintenance services. He will also be responsible for overseeing painting and coating crews in the field.

As a proven leader, Benavides is expected to ensure that each customer’s project is completed on time and on budget, according to the company.

“Richard has built a solid reputation and customer following for several decades, and we are excited to launch the new painting division with Richard’s leadership skills,” says Chris Scheve, general manager.

Benavides brings 25 years of industrial painting and coating experience to his new role. His expertise includes conventional and sprayer applications for above-ground and below-ground painting and coating, with an emphasis on oil and gas customers. He is a NACE Certified Level 2 technician, and also holds applicator certifications for SPC SP-2888 and Denso Protal 7200, according to the company.

Originally from West Monroe, Louisiana, USA, Benavides has painted his way across the United States. His oil and gas industry work has involved both large interstate projects and midstream jobs, completed in every type of weather condition.

“Benavides joins Pilgrim Construction as we seek to build on our legacy of success by expanding the services and value we offer our clients,” the company says in a statement. “By adding his skills to our own, Pilgrim will help our customers bypass the need for painting and coating subcontractors while providing safety, quality, and efficiency from the start of work to completion.”
