Axalta (Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA) announced the appointment of Rakesh Sachdev to its Board of Directors, where he will serve on the company’s nominating and corporate guidance committee and compensation committee. This appointment officially went into effect on August 24, thereby bringing the total Board membership to nine.
“In welcoming Rakesh, we are adding to our Board an outstanding leader with a deep knowledge of Axalta's end markets and business transformation,” says Axalta Board Chair Mark Garrett. “His impressive global business leadership track record and familiarity with automotive and commercial vehicle markets also make him a great fit for the Axalta team.”
Most recently, Sachdev served as chief executive officer (CEO) of specialty chemicals company Element Solutions Inc. (formerly Platform Specialty Products Corporation) from 2016 to 2019. He also assumed leadership roles for Sigma-Aldrich Corporation, Meritor, Inc., and Cummins Inc. over a career that spans decades. Currently, Sachdev serves as chairman of the board of Regal Beloit Corporation and as a board member of Edgewell Personal Care and Avantor, Inc., among other appointments.
