U.K. Paint Manufacturer and Trade Association Form Partnership

HMG Paints Ltd. (HMG) (Manchester, England), the largest independent paint manufacturer in the United Kingdom (UK), and the Painting and Decorating Association (PDA) (Nuneaton, England), the UK’s premier trade and employers’ association in the painting and decorating industry, have entered into an associative partnership.

This announced partnership comes shortly after HMG launched its new e-commerce website, which purports to “[transform] the customer experience for Painters and Decorators” who buy their products online or in brick-and-mortar shops.

In a recent visit to HMG Paints, Neil Ogilvie, chief executive of the PDA, expressed his enthusiasm about his new corporate partners. “It was a great experience for me to visit HMG Paints. I found the factory tour most informative and interesting,” says Ogilvie. “The amount of fantastic and innovative products this company makes is a credit to the painting industry as a whole. It’s really great to have them on board as a PDA Associate member.”

Gracienne Ikin, digital sales and communications manager for HMG, reciprocated the positive feedback. “We are really excited about our future as associate partners of the Painting and Decorating Association,” says Ikin. “Members will benefit from early launch exclusives and offers on products and training. HMG will also be working closely with the PDA by being actively involved in safety, health and environmental, as well as education & training committee meetings.”

Since 1894, the PDA has served as the UK’s largest trade association for professional painters and decorators, and includes in its ranks small business owners, subject matter experts, and large national contractors engaged in internal and external domestic, decorative, commercial and major industrial contract projects. Established in 1930, HMG is a family-owned business that specializes in producing wet paint, powder coatings, and aerosols for various industries, including industrial, specialist industrial, and automotive and commercial vehicles.
