Materials Performance Wins APEX Award for Publication Excellence

APEX 2019, the 31st annual awards program for publication excellence, has selected the October 2018 issue of MP for an award in the category of Magazines, Journals, and Tabloids—Print, 32+ Pages.

APEX awards are based on excellence in editorial content, graphic design, and the ability to effectively achieve overall communications. The October 2018 issue of MP, in honor of NACE International’s 75th anniversary, featured expert-authored articles on the future of corrosion control and a futuristic design unique to that issue.

“Our content included features on such topics as moving into the future with bridge infrastructure of the past, how leadership is a priority for the future of corrosion control, and a NACE expert roundtable on predicting corrosion control developments in the future,” says NACE Group Publisher Eliina Lizarraga. “This content was displayed in a horizontal page format along with the creative use of graphic design, fonts, photos, and images to complement the futuristic theme.”

There were more than 1,200 entries in this year’s contest. One hundred Grand Awards were presented to honor outstanding work in 12 major categories, with 507 Awards of Excellence recognizing exceptional entries in 100 subcategories. The APEX awards program is sponsored by Communications Concepts, Inc., based in Springfield, Virginia, USA, and the editors of Writer’s Web Watch, an online newsletter for communicators who create print, web, and digital media.
