PPG (Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA) has appointed Jaime Irick to the role of vice president (VP) of architectural coatings for the U.S. and Canada. Irick will succeed current PPG VP Dave Cole, who will retire effective July 31.

Irick will report to Tim Knavish, PPG senior vice president, architectural coatings and president, Europe, Middle East and Africa. “Jaime’s wide-ranging leadership, innovation and experience will be invaluable in his new role at PPG,” says Knavish.

Before joining PPG, Irick served as president of Life Fitness Division of Brunswick Corp., a global fitness equipment company. Irick has also held various leadership positions at General Electric Company (GE), including chief commercial officer of Current, powered by GE, VP of GE Lighting North America, and president and chief executive officer of GE Lighting Solutions, among others.

Cole will depart PPG after having been with the company for four decades. He joined PPG’s chemicals business in 1981 and served in various sales and marketing manager roles before being named president of Transitions Optical in 2011. Cole rejoined PPG in 2014 as its vice president of packaging coatings before ascending to his current role in 2015.

“During his 38-year career with PPG, Dave has delivered tremendous value to employees, customers, shareholders and communities,” says Knavish. “He is widely known for his excellent leadership, employee engagement, customer focus, strategic vision and innovation capabilities. In addition, Dave’s high-energy and engaging personality have made him not only a trusted colleague, but also a friend to many throughout PPG.”
