MFG Chemical (Dalton, Georgia, USA), a specialty and custom chemical manufacturer, is staffing up for rising domestic and new global business by expanding its supply chain group.

The company serves global markets such as agriculture, asphalt, graphic arts, lubricants, mining, oilfield, paints and coatings, personal care, pulp and paper, and water treatment. It operates four manufacturing facilities at its Northwest Georgia headquarters and in Pasadena, Texas, USA.

As part of that expansion, Melanie West was promoted to supply chain director, which represents a new position. Previously, she served as chemical manager for materials and scheduling. In her new capacity, she is responsible for the continuous integration and coordination of material handling, scheduling, sourcing, and customer service, with a manager for each of these areas reporting to her. She reports directly to Barry Lassiter, vice president of operations.

“MFG Chemical is growing, and I’m excited to be taking on these new responsibilities to help manage the growth,” West says.

Meanwhile, Kim Curtis joins the company as its customer service manager, having over 20 years of U.S. and international customer service and logistics experience in the flooring and hospitality industries. Curtis and her team are focusing on all aspects of domestic and international customer orders.

“We’re happy to have an experienced MFG manager like Melanie West promoted to director, supply chain,” Lassiter says. “We also welcome Kim Curtis, whose U.S. and international customer service experience will be of great help. Both Melanie and Kim will do an excellent job of managing all aspects of the supply chain to the full benefit of our customers.”
