The protective paints and coatings manufacturer Rust-Oleum (Vernon Hills, Illinois, USA) has acquired Siamons International Inc. (Toronto, Ontario, Canada) and its Concrobium line of products. Concrobium’s product offerings include a wide range of mold cleaning solutions for both porous and non-porous surfaces.

A brand of non-toxic mold cleaners sold in many big-box retailers, Concrobium helped its parent company Siamons reach annual sales figures of approximately $20 million. As part of its deal with Rust-Oleum, Concrobium products will receive an increased retail presence, including expanding the access of other specialty cleaning brands in Canada and introducing the line to new market categories internationally.

Rust-Oleum is a subsidiary of RPM International Inc. (Medina, Ohio, USA), RPM, a global leader in specialty coatings, sealants, and building materials. In a statement, RPM Chairman and CEO Frank C. Sullivan praised the deal.

“The Concrobium brand is an excellent strategic fit that will expand Rust-Oleum’s specialty cleaning product portfolio,” Sullivan said. “The addition of Concrobium will greatly enhance Rust-Oleum’s ability to offer a one-stop shopping solution to its retail partners, ultimately making it a leader in the specialty cleaning market.”
