Linyi Bo Si Conductive Material Co., Ltd. (Shandong Province, China) released the mixed metal oxide-coated titanium (MMO/Ti) Flexible Anode, a product that provides cathodic protection (CP) for pipes with damaged coatings and in areas of high resistance, such as stony or high-resistivity soil, as well as the floors and external walls of storage tanks.

Whereas previous generation anodes consisted of electrodeposited mixed metal oxides on a titanium substrate in a coke-filled breathable fabric cladding, this continuous linear anode combines the advantages of large-current generation MMO/Ti anodes with the conductive properties of a copper-core cable. This allows for evenly distributed electric potential while avoiding excessive or insufficient protection. Due to its titanium alloy with a copper core, the product evenly distributes output current in cases where there is significant damage to coatings. Additionally, it doesn’t interfere with other metal structures within complex piping networks.

The anode offers CP capabilities to the oil and gas, petrochemical, and electric power industries, as well as other applications. The packaged product can be easily installed with no additional components or materials required.
