U.S. Protective Coatings Distributor Opens Southeast Texas Location

Global paints and coatings manufacturer AkzoNobel (Amsterdam, The Netherlands) announced that its U.S. distributor partner, REO Company (Tulsa, Oklahoma, USA), has opened a new location in Beaumont, Texas.

Serving refinery and chemical plant owners, fabricators, and paint contractors in the oil and gas and industrial markets throughout the U.S. Gulf Coast, the distributor offers product lines including Ceilcote, Enviroline, and Chartek from the manufacturer’s International and Devoe ranges of protective coatings and passive fire protection products.

“I am very excited to open the new Texas location because it allows us to better meet the needs of customers in the Southeast with same-day delivery, in most cases,” says REO’s Chris O’Dell. “Our customers have come to expect great customer service and expert technical support, and this new location will definitely help us expand on that. With the help of my dad, Steve O’Dell, and his decades of protective coatings field expertise, our top priority is to provide the region with a full-range of superior products—from primers to finish coats.”

The distribution company began serving the oil and gas market around Tulsa in 1999 with International-brand products. Over the past 18 years, the company has grown to include the entire state of Oklahoma, before being purchased by O’Dell in 2013. O’Dell has been with AkzoNobel since 2002 and is a NACE-certified Coating Inspector Program (CIP) Level 3 inspector.

“The opening of [the] Beaumont location is another great example of our partnership working in action and an opportunity to demonstrate our ongoing commitment to providing protective coatings customers with greater access to high performance products and technical support,” says Chuck Hampton, the manufacturer’s North American director for its protective coatings and marine business.
